INTRODUCTION

The purpose of the presentation is to show the new face of main Cities of Poland with special attention to Warsaw and Cracow. Intensive process of renovation of monuments and buildings changes their image; they recover an initial splendor and delightful colours. On the other hand, dynamical increase in construction of modern buildings enriches urban landscape with enchanting architecture with high-tech solutions. It relates mainly to Warsaw and Wroc³aw, where last War destructions left still enormous free space for new constructions. Presented photos prove, that architects succesfuly take advantage of that chance to demostrate their abilities. Coexistence of old, renovated, architecture with the ultra new one gives an especially interesting effect, when we can admire reflections of Palaces and Churches facades in glass elevations of modern buildings.

The photos presentation is arranged in the way of virtual "tourist sightseeing". The photos presented, show the objects in such a sequense as we would see them walking along the town, often following the usual tourist routes. One can call that principle "the continuity of the place", e.g. the near photos show the near objects. On the contrary, there is lack of time continuity. Often the near photos show the same place or object in different or distant time, to show the richness of its moods or visual aspects. In order to facilitate the locatioin of the presented objects, Warsaw and Cracow has been devided in separate town areas (districts) or thematic zones.

The photos on CD were made in recent years 2004-2008. The number of photos which in general sightseeing illustrate Warsaw is 1650, Cracow - 400, other Towns and Places - 990. In detailed sightseeing Warsaw is presented in 2100 immages and Cracow in 800.

The photos presentation is accompanied by adequate musical background performed only in Internet Explorer.
